Audio Tales was a unique project in the East Lindsey District of Lincolnshire commissioned by Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and Culture, supported using public funding from Arts Council England, via a National Lottery Project Grant.

Involving over 60 creatives from across Lincolnshire and the local area – from writers and actors, to illustrators and musicians – Audio Tales was an innovative, interactive arts project, that took you on a journey across our county’s rich past, present and future.

Members of the public were invited to find unique QR codes at various places in East Lindsey. These codes, when scanned, treated the listener to an original piece of writing inspired by the location. There was also a virtual tour available to enjoy online.

My piece was a short monologue in the style of Old Mother Riley, reflecting on the early life of the famous comic actor Arthur Lucan who was born and bred in Lincolnshire:
